Redmi Preps for Global Launch: The Enhanced 5G Edition of Redmi Pad Pro on the Horizon

Redmi – the Sub-brand of Xiaomi unveils the new Redmi Pad Pro in China, which is now gearing up for a 5G version, designed specifically for global audiences – Redmi Pad Pro 5G.

Redmi Pad Pro 5G – The Global Edition

The global-edition Redmi Pad Pro 5G extensively aligns with its Chinese counterpart – both in its design with standout camera modules and its inherent features that includes Xiaomi’s original accessories’ connectivity pins.

Contrarily, when the introductory Redmi Pad Pro was presented, 5G connectivity was seen as a given. For this tablet, however, Xiaomi decided the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip was the go-to option. A notable modification is expected around this key feature in the upcoming 5G model. This has been reported by Android Headlines.

According to the report, the Redmi Pad Pro 5G is code-named “ruan”, and it’s almost similar to its non-5G counterpart, barring the support for the cellular network. The report indicates that the Redmi Pad Pro 5G will be launched in three different versions: 24074RPD2G, 24074RPD2I, and 24074RPD2C.

Speculations are rife that these models will be first introduced to the Chinese market, along with devices like the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 and Redmi K70 Ultra. The report also suggests that the 5G tablet will make its way to the global market, including India, under the POCO brand. Earlier reports also suggested that the original Redmi Pad Pro will be renamed POCO pad in the global market.

Recent reports also suggest that the Redmi Pad Pro 5G will support e-SIMs, eliminating the need to allocate a physical SIM card slot on the device to make calls or utilize mobile data – certainly a positive change for all global audiences.

Key Technical Specifications of the Tablet

Based on the original Redmi Pad Pro, the gadget enthusiast can anticipate a 12.1″ LCD display, boasting a 2.5K resolution and a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The 5G version’s rear camera offers an 8 Mpx resolution with LED flash, with the front camera matching the same resolution. Although it’s still unclear as to which processor will power it, the original model comprises 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
